Suggest Tips For A Cut Tongue

Hello ,i have meet with and bike accident 2 days ago.i have took and emergency and now i m safe and every thing is in control but one thing still i m wondering when i can u allright.i got hurted in my tounge bading due to it upper tounge got manny rashes and lower tounge got cut.my family told me no need to stitch it will heal withing 7days.after 2days i visited ent specialist.he also told fthe same "blood circulation in ur tounge is ok so it will heal"all antibiotic and mouth gargle hav been taking yet.my question is still my tounge cut not healed yet and i. Not able to speak fluent like before also lips from inside have became black.what do u suggest to me .

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.

As per your complain it seems that you have got a traumatic injury to the soft tissues inside mouth including a cut over the tongue and also injury to mucosa of the inner lips..
The cut over the tongue in case if it is small might not need stitches and it is also true that the blood supply inside mouth is profuse and healing will take place but it healing may take a longer time and might not heal in a week..
It can take atleast 2 to 3 week for it to heal..
You can apply a numbing gel over it, do warm saline gargles and take Advil or aleve to relieve pain and inflammation..
Take soft diet to prevent irritation..
The blackening of inside of lips seems to be due to bruising secondary to injury that might have led to trauma to superficial small blood vessels causing rupture and accumulation of blood into soft tissues..
Nothing to worry as it will gradually fade..
Doing alternate warm and cool compresses will help..
