Suggest Treatment For LPR And Breathing Difficulty

Wife was just diagnosed with LPR, and has difficulty breathing, also just started (today) spitting up clear mucus with air bubbles in it. Sanford in Sioux Falls, SD said she may need to get something sucked out? We are not sure if this is an ER necessity or can it wait?

Hi Dear!!Thanks for your query to HCM.
Read your query and understood your health concern.I feel concerned about your health issues.
Based on facts of you query, you seem to suffer from-
LPR-Laryngopharyngeal reflux(Silent Reflux) which is extra esophageal reflux disease(EERD)- This is due to accompanied Globus Pharyngeus and GERD,along with EERD
This has been causing sense of difficult breathing from regurged gastric contents in to throat from Silent reflux of aerosolized gastric acid reflux contents in to throat. This has given rise to spitting of mucus and froth air bubbles in your wifes case. She is not having heartburn complaints
This causes breathlessness / Spasm from silent spilling of gastric contents in to throat.
Treatment-
PPI like Veloz with Motility regulator like-Domperidone
(Gaviscon)-Alginic Acid liquid x 3-4 times a day.
Bronchodialators for -asthma,
Suction of the throat and respiratory tract-required only when in case, cough/ breathlessness is more.
Thus your doctor is right in advising you for throat and bronchial suction.
Just co-operate to avoid complications.
ENT surgeon's Consult and needful investigations(X-ray chest-for Aspiration detection) and treatment is suggested for proper care.

Hope this reply would help you to plan further treatment with your doctors there.

Welcome for further query in this regard if any.
Good Day!!
