Hello,

Lichen planus of skin is one of the simple problem of skin which is basically caused by damage to the cells in the skin layers.

The reasons for skin damage are under study and till now we are not able to designate the exact reason for the same. It can be due to autoimmunity or due to drugs or unknown causes too.

In my patients, I suggest them to use both topical and oral steroids under strict dermatological supervision.

An antihistamine like loratidine or cetrizine are of much help to prevent the scratching.

All the best.
