my 80years old mother-in-law is suffering from orthoporosis disease for the past 3 years because of that she could not stand or walk or do anything of her own. she is passing urine and stool in the bed pan. Of late she is passing urine with blood . Pl doctor tell me what is the cause of this and advice in this regard. Please reply me soonest possible. thanking you doctor
The fact that she can not move by herself means that her skeletal system is very weakened and there is not too much to be done. It is necessary performing also some tests in order to investigate for the possible causes underlying the fact that she is not walking: - A brain CT scan - A cardiac ultrasound - Nerve conduction studies - Liver and kidney function tests - Blood electrolytes.
You should discuss with her doctor on the above issues. If her hip joints are suffering from arthritis, surgery may be an option, although at her age it may be too risky.
