Suggest Treatment For PCOS And Irregular Menstruation
Hi. I have pcos and irregular periods. My husband works offshore with a 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off rotation. Since i get to see my husband only 2 weeks in a month i have taken primolut n for a couple of days every month for last 4-6 months to delay or change my period date. I would like to know if its safe to use primolut n often to delay or change period date. Thanks!

Hi, I understand your query. You have have two problems to tackle with PCOD, & to be free from menses while your husband is off duty & stays with you. *To take primolute N monthly ,just to adjust your menses monthly is not recommended.Instead, - Certain oral contraceptives are given to treat PCOD ( Diane 35)for 5to 6 cycles & try to stimulate ovulation following the treatment. Oral contraceptives can be adjusted & given regularly to plan your period when your husband is on duty. * - Clomiphene citrate is given to stimulate ovulation, if there is no automatic regulisation of ovulation with oral contraceptives. * - Laproscopic surgery & drilling operation is surgical treatment for PCOS Thanks.
