I am being cared for: Polycythemia vera Discoid lupus erythematosus along with a rather long list of other problems. I am having concurrent problems recently with skin itching with little relief of applying a variety of creams & lotions. Could there be a relationship? I would greatly appreciate any insight you might provide. Many thanks, Len Aronson
Hi. Polycythemia vera is known to be associated with itching, specially after bathing. Is it so in your case? is the itching associated with any skin lesions? First of all, we need to see if the itching is associated with any skin lesions. If it is, underlying skin lesion would dictate treatment. If not, its most likely due to polycythemia vera. Details of other underlying conditions and medications are desirable. Thanks
