Suggest Treatment For UTI,appetite Loss, vomiting And Pain In Suprapubic Area
I am a nurse working in a care facility for people with intellectual disabilities. One man has had two uti of non description lately. He has significant appetite loss, some vomiting, lethargy and is complaining of pain in the suprapubic area. His symptoms are very much that of a child with a UTI with the constant crying. HIs baseline temperature is 35.4 but his temperature went up to 38.1, 37.4 etc over 24 hour period. I was concerned that it was more than just a UTI and that the kidneys may be affected. The GP s in the area I work in rush in and don t check him out. Also this man has xxxxy syndrome.

Suggest Treatment For UTI,appetite Loss, vomiting And Pain In Suprapubic Area
Hello, There can be possible drug-resistant UTI, pyelonephritis, metabolic or electrolyte disturbances or else. Treatment must be focused on the root cause analysis with basic lab tests, ultrasound of the abdomen & pelvis. Though primary relief with analgesic as acetaminophen, urinary alkalizer as citro soda if not contra indicated from a medical point of view. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
