Suggest Treatment For A Blocked Grommet And Decreased Hearing

I had a grommet inserted Dec 2011 but it has been blocked for last 10 days and drives me nuts as I cannot hear properly
When I close my nose and blow I can feel moisture coming up through my ear canal
Should I make an appt to see my specialist or should I wait for it to unblock by itself
I am flying from NZ to Europe in 18 days time and do not want the discomfort
