Suggest Treatment For A Bruise On The Chest

My daughter got stabbed by a pencil in school today. She now has a circular bruise on her chest where she got stabbed. The bruise is pink in the middle and purple around the outer part of the circle. She says it doesn t hurt when you touch it. Should I be concerned?

Hi,

Your daughter may be having post traumatic ecchymosis. There may be blood oozing in dermis due to blunt trauma. The blood spread in in dermis and lead to reddish patch called ecchymosis. The lesion may be called localised purpura. Do not worry, the lesion might fade within few days to few weeks. However, you may consult dermatologist. Still, I would like to give few tips...

- cold compresses may be done
- apply thrombophob oint
- give vitamin C and vitamin K derivative like orsi-K

I feel this might help you..

Thanks
