Hello, about a month ago I cut my index finger rather deeply with a butcher knife. It bled for half an hour, I couldn t bend it painlessly for two days and the cut wouldn t heal properly for a week. Now it s scarred and no longer painful, but the area is still coloured violet/green and looks swollen. What could have caused this? I ve cut my fingers before, but never has a cut healed this badly. Thank you in advance!
You seem to have developed a localised skin infection . keep the affected area clean and dry . Apply a topical antibiotic cream like neosporin or mupirocin over the affected area twice daily . You might a course of oral antibiotics if the lesion tends to persist or increase.
