Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just found out I have a fractured neck. I did not know I had this problem except I have always had neck and back pain but my doctors always said Oh it s ok and never looked into my pain or where it was coming from. I also have scoliosis and several discs that are degenerative. Is there a way I can tell how long ago this fracture occurred because I do not remember how it happened.
Dear patient Considering your case you were having neck and back pain and it was found out that you have got neck fracture. Now I would like to know how you were diagnosed with neck fracture? Was any Xray or ct scan done? Since you are not having any recent trauma fracture must be old. If not done you should go for CT scan of cervical spine to confirm diagnosis and level of fracture. Treatment depends on level of fracture and displacement. If it's displaced and causing nerve compression it should be operated. Please take visit to expert neurosurgeon And get yourself examined. Do not neglect neck fracture as it may lead to permanent quadriplegia. All the best.
