I have had kind of a rash between my big toe and next toe and down the middle of the foot for a few months. I chalked it up to athletes foot, but its itchy on the side of my foot (the big toe side) to about the arch of my foot. It s very scaly and itchy in the area. This has been going on for a few months. This week it showed some small whitish spots on the side of the big toe (not pussy) and some other bumps also down the side of the foot. It also seems to be feverish in the area (also for months). The athlete s feet remedies didn t seem to help. Then I thought well maybe it s poison ivy so I stopped putting anything on it this week. hasn t gotten better even wearing flip flops everyday. I cant get into the doctor today, can you recommend things I can do over the weekend before I can get into the doctor next week if necessary?
Hello, from what you have described, the lesion appear as tinea pedis interdigitalis , however, there may be other differentials like allergic contact dermatitis. A KOH mount will confirm the diagnosis. The treatment of these conditions differ greatly So, for the time being, i would adv you take an antihistamine like tab Cetrizine 10 mg at bedtime or tab allegra 180 mg at daytime and don't apply anything (esp., steroids because they modify the clinical appearance of lesions) And review with a dermatologist as soon as possible for necessary inv. and treatment according to diagnosis Thanks Take care
