Suggest Treatment For A Large Blister On The Thigh
I had a huge blood blister on my inner thigh due to a an injury. The blister was close to the inside of my knee. The knee and shin are still numb, bruised and swollen. The blood blister recently ruptured. It was approximately 2 long by 1.5 wide. The space where it was is now very hard. I have been treating with Hydrogen Peroxide and Neosporin. Should I be worried?
I can understand your concern for the large blister on the thigh. After analyzing the query with best diligence I can make a possibility of wither a friction blister or an insect bite hypersensitivity.
I suggest you to not to touch pinch or pop the area as can get secondarily infected.
In my patients with your kind of problem I prefer to give an oral antibiotic such as cefadroxyl or ciprofloxacin or amoxycillin for 5-7 days.
An additional pain killer tablet is of much help in reducing the inflammation and pain of the affected area. In case if you feel that the area is increasing then must visit a doctor to get best guidance personally. Hope it helps.
