My five year old daughter had a large bump on he waist line about two months ago. It had a large white head so I popped it and a lot of puss came out. I cleaned it up with peroxide and it went away after two days. About three weeks later she had another white head about five inches away from from where the first one was. Her father took her to the doctor and they have her antibiotics and he put a warm cloth on it and it went away after a few days but left a dark spot. A couple of days ago another white head appeared and it s red all around and hurts to the touch. I put a warm cloth on and it popped on its own but the red bump is still there. I m worried now that she keeps getting these zit like bumps on her body.should I take her to the doctor? Could this be some kind of viral infection?
I have read your query in detail and do understand your concern.
You can go for pus culture sensitivity if there is any pus discharge from the lesions as it will help in proper choice of antibiotics.
Topical and oral antibiotics will be required to get rid of these lesions.
You can apply mupirocin 2% cream twice daily on these.
Oral antibiotics will depend on pus culture sensitivity report or the pattern of antibiotic usage and resistance in your area.
Hope this helps!
Feel free to revert back if you have any other question.
Good luck!
