Suggest Treatment For A Lump Like Feeling In The Throat

I have been to a Dr. a few months back and was concerned my throat felt swollen. Felt like i was swallowing over a lump. I looked in the back of my throat and i could see my epiglottis and it was white, I have looked in there a 100 times never saw that. Showed the Dr. he didn t seem alarmed, is that normal. I still feel the same way, he did give me antibiotics but did nothing. Just wondering if i should see an Ear, nose and throat Dr.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Lumps do not develop in that area and if they do they are persistent. On the other side if something was white, meaning with pus, you would have sore throat and fever and getting worse. The difficulty on swallowing comes from organs passed the epiglottis. If you have that difficulty when you eat or drink foods, then yes you should consider consulting an ENT doctor locally.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
