I have been having a dull aching pain in my forearm for several months now, mostly at night during sleep. A few days ago I felt a large, rectangular shaped lump on my tricep on the same arm. It feels like it is attached to my muscle, about 2-3 inches above my elbow.
Hi! Good morning. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
Although inflammatory swelling due to some kind of trivial trauma not noticed by you could be a possibility, considering your history of pain for several months, I would advise you to report to a general surgeon in your area, who might go for some investigations like complete blood count, ESR, and a FNAC (fine needle aspiration cytology) of the swelling to arrive at a definitive diagnosis and appropriate management. Till then, you could go for an anti inflammatory drug along with a proton pump inhibitor for a symptomatic relief.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
