Suggest Treatment For A Painful And Swollen Abscess In Inner Thigh
I have an abscess in my inner thigh.... about a month ago it swelled to the size of a golf ball. i went to the ER but they just said to put warm compresses and that it will go away on its own. Well now its back and hurting more than ever and its hard like a rock and really red and hot to touch. i dont have a fever, it just hurts to walk because of where it is... what can i do? obviously hot compresses is only a temp cure...

As per your case history of abscess, my treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an NSAID like ibuprofen for five to seven days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin and linezolid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
