Suggest Treatment For A Painful Bruise On The Eyelid
After taking a shower, I noticed I had what appears to be a bruise on my eyelid. Not taking any aspirin, etc, and did nothing to injure the eye. There is a small bump (like maybe a bug bite?) Does not hurt or itch...but concerned it is still there. 4 days now?
hi. I have read your question and understand your concern.
sudden appearance of reddish, slightly raised lesion over eyelid is suggestive of beetle dermatitis. it's an allergic reaction to bugs. usually happens when a patient is sleeping. the patient notices it next morning.
beetle dermatitis is a self resolving condition. it usually clears in approximately 10-14 days, so you need not worry.
for faster recovery I usually advise my patients a mild steroid cream such as fluticasone propionate for a week.
hope this addresses your question. for any further queries please get back to us. thanks.
