Suggest Treatment For A Painful Bump On The Labia Majora

I m 18 and yesterday I noticed a sore, small, pus filled almost pimple right above my vaginal opening. Today I noticed that the area is inflamed and now has multiple pus filled pastules on it. It reminds me of strep throat. It is tender to the touch and hurts to sit in certain positions and when I wipe after going to the bathroom. Help?

Hi,

It may be Bartholin gland abscess or pustules in the vagina. You need an examination from a doctor. If it is small they will advise some tablets for that or they may advise small surgery called incision and drainage [I and D].

For pain to reduce you can do Sitz Bath 2 to 3 times at home.

Hello,

The symptoms are suggestive of an abscess.

Consult a gynecologist and get it drained.

Nothing much to worry as it can be done under local anesthesia.

Antibiotics have to be started after the procedure.
