Suggest Treatment For A Painful Itchy Bump On The Leg

Got a pimple like bump on my leg just above my ankle, very itchy first night; not so much now, has some redness, not much change in size since I ve first discovered it, and now today when I put coconut oil on it ( been rubbing coconut oil on area since noticed) a yellowish crystal I don t know like scab thingy came out. It was about as deep in as it was surfacing from the top. What can it be??? Could be a bite I would say or it did appear after I cut my grass?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of painful itchy bump on the leg which occurs due to infection of hair follicles leading to folliculitis and due to blockage of clogged pores of sebaceous gland filled with sebum ,dead skin and bacteria get infected. It could be due to allergic reaction to grass and due to insect bite as well. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply topical antibacterial ointment such as mupirocin and do yoga and meditation daily. You should get hormone levels monitored. Make use of product containing benzoyl peroxide. Take Multivitamin supplements.Apply Adapalene gel once at night. Also wash your face with mild soap and cold water twice a day , exfoliate your face once a week , apply aloe vera gel and apply azelaic acid containing cream twice a day.If condition doesn't start getting better in a month then consult dermatologist. Drink plenty of water daily and add fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
