Suggest Treatment For A Painful Lump Below Ear In The Cheek Bone

Hello doctor, I am 29 yrs old female.My height is 173cm and weight is 82kg.Today morning when I got up I am having a lump below ear in the cheek bone which is very painful when I touch.Not able to open my mouth.Before 4day I had throat sore, noseblock etc.When I was 8 yrs old I had gland which was operated(had below the ear) and now I afraid that it could be same or it could be sort of infection.Kindly pls help with solution.Thanks n advance.

Hi,Dear,
Thanks for the query to HCM. I studied your problem in depth and I understood your concerns.
Treatment of painful lump below ear-
This lump seems to be parotitis acute infection.
Antibiotics/Nsaids drugs/ cold compresses for 5 days.
If it still grows-Incision and adequate drainage of parotid abscess would save the gland function.
So don't build up wrong concepts and create more psychic complications in you which would increase risks and costs to you, but just ask a query to HCM and be comfortable to resolve your health issues.
