Suggest Treatment For A Painful Lump In The Testicle
My teenage son has complained of groin pain that radiates to hips and back. He has been seen by a doctor to rule out hernia, but now my son told me he has a lump in his left testical. I am very concerned and will obviously call a doctor tomorrow. Any suggestions
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about your son having pain in the groin that radiates to the hips and back. He has been seen by a Doctor to rule out hernia, but now that your son says that he has a lump in the testicle, I would advise you the following: - Ultrasonography and color doppler of the scrotum will guide for a proper diagnosis and related test of blood and urine will help further to know the exact problem and a plan for treatment. Insist on clinical actual examination. The lump may be due to a cyst or can be a cancer. In this case he will need further investigations of tumor markers and CT scan of the abdomen and so on and relevant surgery. Hence a proper diagnosis at the earliest is important. IF this turns out to be a cyst or so, the pain in the groin referred to the back and hips has to be investigated further as this can not be simply due to a cyst or so.
