hi doctor i have so many questions to ask you. i am 18 years old and i have been noticing for pass couple of years that there was this small lump under my armpit and it would swell and burst on its own and a smelly odor infection would come out. when it does it goes away and would come back like in a month... then i have noticed a next one had come out again so theres two but when one is gone the other one comes out back its like there taking turns.......... please im worried i want to know what is it and how i can get rid of it ?
The possible diagnosis of the condition based on the description of the lesions is furunculosis which is an infection of the hair follicle.It can be treated with topical antibacterial creams like mupirocin.You must avoid pricking or fiddling with them. A short course of oral antibiotic like azithromycin might also help. Consult your dermatologist regarding the above mentioned therapy. Regards
