Suggest Treatment For A Red Bump On The Penis Shaft

Hi, I noticed about a week ago that I had a red bump on the shaft of my penis that was a little sore. Today, it turned a dark purple so I assumed it to be a blood blister possibly from too much rubbing. I doused a q tip with hydrogen peroxide and applied it to the purple bump. When I did this the center immediately turned white. I m not sure what to do at this point.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It could be a sebaceous cyst which occurs in relation to Hair follicle. The white point could be due to Pus which appears due to infection. Please consult a surgeon and proceed further. If it doesn't subside by antibiotics and anti-inflammatory tablets, it has to be removed surgically. Nothing to worry.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Hari Charan Perigela, General Surgeon
