Suggest Treatment For A Red Rash On The Nose And Cheek Of A Child
My 5 yr old has a red rash across his cheeks and nose. He has not been in the sun today or yesterday. it started abut 2 hours ago and has gotten redder and over a larger area. the edges look spotted not even. He has no fever and says he feels fine. My brother had the 5th disease when he was little started the same way just wondering if it is still out there and should I be concerned. He also started a new daycare this week
Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have red rash on the nose and cheek which seems to be that fact that you are being exposed and re exposed to the allergen and this is the reason that the allergic reaction is persisting. Need not to worry. Wash face with face wash containing salicylic acid twice a day and apply cream containing azelaic acid. I would suggest you to take proper course of antihistamine drug along with short course of oral corticosteroids after proper prescription. Exfoliate your skin once in a week to remove the dead skin. Drink plenty of water. If condition doesn't get better in a month then consult dermatologist again for proper diagnosis and to rule out any underlying condition . Doctor may prescribe isotretinoin , steroid ointment or antibiotics course.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
