Suggest Treatment For A Small Abscess On The Leg
Hello. I believe I have a small abscess on my leg where I cut myself from shaving last night. Leading away from the abscess and surrounding my knee is a red line that feels like a bruise and I m just not sure what to do or what this really is. Please help. I am a 23 year old woman

Hi.
As per your case history of small abscess, my treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain and swelling for 5-7 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, incision and drainage done only by a dermatologist or surgeon.
