Suggest Treatment For A Small Lump On The Testicle

My grandson has a small lump on his testicle. I have not seen it myself but my daughter-in-law has taken him to the hospital and they have told her to leave it for 48 hours to see how it goes. It is not giving any pain or discomfort to the baby. Can you advise as to what this might be. He has a heavy cold at the moment and is coughing, I understand, otherwise in good health.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
This is a classical history of a small lump in the testicles sac of a small child particularly after an attack of cold and cough.
This is most probably due to cyst of the area.
or hernia.
Get examined from the surgeon and if required go for surgery if indicated.
You can also get a confirmation by ultrasonography of the scrotum.
