Suggest Treatment For A Swollen Lymph Node In The Neck
I am 18 years old and have a swollen lymph node on the side of my neck a few inches down from behind my ear, it moves and isn t really hard, it doesn t hurt either. I first noticed this when I had a cold but it hasn t gone down since which was about 2 months ago. Can you help?
I have gone through your query and understand your concern..
As per your complain swollen lymph nodes or Regional Lymphadenopathy occurs most commonly as a result of infections in the region of the body drained by the following group of lymph nodes and it is common in case of cold..
Although the symptoms may subside but the lymph nodes can take a relatively longer time to reduce in size.. Other cause of lymph node enlargement that does not regress in size can be Lymphoma..
In case if the swelling does not resolve a BIOPSY of the lymph nodes can help in making a correct diagnosis and a proper treatment can be planned according to the diagnosis.
In case of swelling due to infection antibiotics and warm compresses can relieve.. In case of lymphoma Radiotherapy and chemotherapy can help..
Hope this information helps..
