Suggest Treatment For A Uterine Fibroid In Posterior Wall In A Subserosal Location, Indenting The Endometrium
Uterus measures 7.2*5.4*5.3 cms and reveals a fibroid in posterior wall in a subserosal location measuring 4.0*3.9 cm. It is seen indenting the endometrium. Endometrial thickness is 10 mm. Right ovary measure 2.9*2.5 cm and left ovary measures 2.4*2.0 . Both ovaries appear normal. No abnormal adnexal mass is seen. does this fiborid cause any infertility or any other risk involved.
Hi, I think if the fibroid is is subserous all it is unlikely to cause infertility. But the exact location of fibroid whether it is obstructing the tubal openings, can be seen on a 3 D scan or MRI or a diagnostic laparoscopy. As it is indenting the endometrium, that means ot has submucosal and intramural component which may lead to infertility and may be be some complications in pregnancy like miscarriages. So, better to get it removed. Discuss with your doctor regarding this.
