Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Swelling

Low abd incision healed well post hysterectomy but there is area above incision that sticks out like a couple of twinkies under the skin. It feels soft with hard line under it.It is not painful but a little tender and numb. Is this normal swelling? Rest of abdomen is flat.Thank you.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

This is due to the formation of more scar tissue in this area.

All aspects of a wound may not heal in the same way. In this area, it appears that there may have been increased fibroid tissue (scar tissue).

The numbness is due to changes in the nerves in the area. This would have resulted from the surgery. Surgery requires that incisions are made that may have an effect on nerves in the skin and underlying tissue.

It should improve in time.

I hope this helps
