Im not actually bleeding heavy its really light just clotty. Should I stop taking the birth control or call my doctor or is this normal?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
The possible causes are:
- You are taking the pills irregularly, missing a dose or not taking pill at a fixed time of day, in such case you should stick to the exact schedule advised by your prescribing doctor.
- If you are taking progesterone only pill, menstrual irregularity is its known side effect. The irregularity decreases over the time of regular intake of the pills. - The only precaution to be taken is to keep a good genital hygiene.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
