Hi,
It is important to know that an abnormal semen test result can't confirm a man's
infertility as sperm can flactuate. A
semen analysis requires to show abnormal twice to confirm an abnormal semen report. Semen analysis report may be affected by current illness, anxiety, not preventing from ejaculation for 3-4 days prior to test. Again, environmental factors, occupational history, smoking, alcohol consumption, recreational drugs, obesity, erratic lifestyle, dietary habits, exposure to toxins etc can hamper both
sperm count and morphology. So, lifestyle modification, avoid smoking and alcohol consumption, restriction of fatty foods, exercising regularly, taking lots of green leafy vegetables with citrus foods, taking some multivitamins and micronutrients like Vitamin C, D, E, zinc, B12, Folic acid, Omega-3 fatty acids, coQ10 etc may help to improve sperm count, motility and morphology. Do repeat semen analysis about 2-3 months after first test and if second follow-up test shows poor result, then consult with reproductive
urologist and reproductive
endocrinologist for further treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
