I had chest ct w/o contrast to follow up 6 mm nodule in left lower lung lobe...diagnosed with adenocarcinoma in November 2013 and had left upper lobectomy. due to this... ct in may 2014 was clear, ct in November of 2014 showed 6mm nodule...ct today showed interval resolution. oncologist wants to follow up again in 90 days. What exactly does interval resolution mean?
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your concern. Interval resolution means your nodule is decreasing in size. Your previous scan was showing nodule of 6 mm size. So nodule size in this scan must be less than 6 mm. This is the reason for which reporting of interval resolution was done. This suggest that your nodule is benign in nature and not malignant. Repeat scan after 90 days will mostly show absence of nodule. So interval resolution in your case is suggestive of benign nodule and this is good sign. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
