I am taking the anti seizure medication, Gabapentin, for neuropathy. I also have scarring Alopecia. Doxycycline is being used by some specialists to try to slow hair loss. I have read that one should not take Doxycycline if taking anti seizure meds., but Gabapentin is not listed in those to avoid. Do you know if they are a safe combination?
Hello, first of all, 'Doxycycline to slow hair loss' doesnot exist..Doxycycline is a tetracycline group of antibiotics indicated only for very few specific conditions of cicatricial alopecia.. Yes, there are reports of raised intracranial pressure with its usage, the condition is known as pseudotumor cerebri; but no increased risk is reported with its combition with gabapentin. I hope you will find this piece of information as useful Thanks Take care.
