Suggest Treatment For An Infected C-section Incision

I had a c section November 21. 2011. About 6 weeks after the surgery fluid started leaking from the incision. Dr. told me I had a seroma under the incision, needed to drain and then would close. It is now 3 weeks later incision is still open. It looks like a blood blister. Had to get put on antibiotics because the opening developed MRSA. Still have another week on the antibiotic and the opening is getting smaller but still has not healed. Is there anything else I should be doing?

Hi, Dr Purushottam Neurgaonkar here. I welcome you to HCM VIRTUAL CLINIC. I have gone through your question, and I think I have understood your concern. I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

1 ) First of all do not panic.

2 ) As the wound is getting smaller than before please do not worry. It is healing, though slowly.

3 ) I will suggest you to fully trust in your treating doctor. Please continue with the treatment as before. I will suggest you to take Tab Vitamin C 500 mg twice a day for 15 days and good quality protein supplements that will add at least 20 gram of protein per day.
Also, Tab Chymoral Forte 2 times a day for 5 days.
This will help to heal the wound fast.

I hope this answer helps you.
Thanks.
Dr. Purushottam Neurgaonkar
