Suggest Treatment For Ankle Fracture

Twisted and fractured ankle in 3 places and pulled muscle away from bone. Now my foot is cold. Feels frozen starting at toes and up to back of calf. Foot is coldest part... calf is cool. At times it feels like its thawing out and really hurts. You can feel coldness thru 3 socks. Any ideas on what it could be. Thank you.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
I have studied your case and this is not usual presentation. Ankle fracture might cause RSD, that is a nervous system related disease and It can lead to swelling, stiffness and pain. Some time it can be perceived as cold limb.
So I would recommend you to meet your doctor and discuss this possibility.Other common cause can be narrowing of vessels. This can be confirmed through Doppler examinations.
I hope these steps will be helpful for you. Let me know if there is any other follow up questions.
thanks
