Hello, I have astigmatism on my left eye. My prescription reads -5.50 on left, -6.00 on right. The clinic where ordered my last contacts made a mistake and ordered them without the astigmatism for my left eye. They told me this should not matter or affect my vision, since I have such little astigmatism, but I ve worn them for a few hours and I am noticing difference in my sight. It is distorted and wearing out my vision, especially reading/looking at a computer. Should I order new contacts, or is this normal?
It is always better to wear contact lenses with complete correction of astigmatism also. Only if the astigmatism is less than 0.5 then you can leave it.
refraction should be repeated. if cylindrical corection is correct it is to be given. in your case residual corection of cylinder can be compensated with specs. it take time to adopt to cylinder. you need time to be acquainted. only thing is refraction should be correct. you can take second opi nion
