Suggest Treatment For Back Pain After Spinal Fusion Surgery
I am suffering with severe pain from post heroic neurology. And have continued on and off pain from back surgery (L4/L5 and S1 fusion). Diilaudin was given to me when I was in hospital mid August for 8 days when I was in so much pain and vomiting and then dehydrates; and my blood pressure was extremely high. I was taken by ambulance and was unresponsive to the er. I was diagnosed with viral meningitis ( after culture came back and post shingles complications or postherpic neurologia. What is the best medicine to relieve the pain? And what can I do to keep the episodes from coming on; and or make this all go away?
I carefully read your question and would recommend starting Carbamazepine for the pain. Another treatment option, which can be better tolerated compared to Carbamazepine is Gabapentine. These drugs are very helpful in controlling post-herpetic neuralgia. You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Best wishes, Dr. Aida
