Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal, MD.
Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query
yes the remedy may help. In long standing diabetes, vitamin D levels are usually low (as in the case of your mother). Due to this the calcium deposition in bones is less effective, and the bones eventually feel weak.
This may be causing pain in not only the back, but also the other bones. So this therapy would be effective.
I would however suggest an
MRI spine or
x ray of the lumbosacral spine. This will help make sure that there is no pathological condition actually affecting the bones. At her age, many conditions can occur that may need a different form of treatment.
I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above/if any other so I can be of help further.
