Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my 13yr old grandson still wets the bed and the ammonia smell each day is overpowering. His diet is fairly good although he is not a fan of some vegetables. His protein intake is average, and he drinks plenty of water. Should we be concerned about the ammonia smell which almost takes one s breath away. Thank you.
HI Thank for asking to HCM I really appreciate your concern for your grand son and I would like to say that it is important to get done certain test like routine urine and blood test, ultrasonography test, to rule out the possibility of any systemic disease, if this is turned unremarkable then child can be given bladder training, ask the child to hold the urine as hard as he can in day time, keep the not of time of bed wetting alert the kid at that time, awake for urination, never scare the child, have a nice day.
