Suggest Treatment For Bicornuate Uterus During Pregnancy
Hi doctor, my sister is 6 weeks pregnant and is diagnosed with bicornuate uterus. Also her sonography reports say that the baby has shifted to left side... From Oval shaped the uterus has turned into V shaped. Please explain what is this condition and can this cause any harm to my sister and her baby? And what all precaution can we take to have a safe pregnancy?

HI, Thanks for the query .I understand your concern. THe pregnancy out come of bi cornuate uterus depends on the depth of indentation in fundus of uterus. _ If the implantation is on septum possibility of miscarraige/ early child birth in crease. -Otherwise many patients have a normal progress of pregnancy.& it's out come. -abnormal fetal presentations are common. - Fetal malformations are proportionately raised in Bi cornuate uterus. * Over all, a good pregnancy care with USG check up as per doctor;s advise can guide a healthy pregnancy/ predict certain problems well in advance.. & can be managed well as per indication. Thanks.
