Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

This looks like she is having renal tubular acidosis, (high acid in blood as kidneys are unable to get the acid out of body or retain it) If other kidney functions are fine (they might keep on checking those in blood and urine regularly) then this treatment is recommended to keep the balance of acid and some electrolytes in our body as they are lost in this disease more than usual. This needs to continue I'm afraid to keep the balance and just making sure that your daughter in growing and developing in the right direction.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shehla Usman, Pediatrician
