Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
6 mo ago my 29 yr old son was diagnosed with what the doctors call old man cancer or bile duct cancer. He unfortunately at that time had it already in his bile duct, liver and part of his lungs, it has now spread to his lymph nodes and diaghram. He is on oral chemo and has lost about 60 lbs since diagnosed. The specialist has recently put him on Methadone for pain as nothing else has seemed to work. He is also on a steroid and now being weaned off of it. He has a dr. Jekyll and mr hyde personality which is very disturbing to live with (he lives with us) (we are in our late 60 s and he yells at us for most everything. He is constantly saying I can do it because I am dying. It s nothing bad, just treating us like his slaves. I have 2 questions.. is this normal? Secondly is there a time frame that we are looking at for him? We love him dearly and I would love to know how much time we have to enjoy him (he is also very funny and loving).
Am sorry for your son ma'am, unfortunately your son is suffering from an end stage cancer and there is no such a big time for him, i think it is a matter days or a couple of months.
