Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I can t stop binging and making myself sick, I ve just seen bright blood in my sick and I really can t stop . I do it twice / three times a week. My boyfriends in Iraq and returns next week . I just feel so under pressure to look good but I crave nice food so that s why I binge and I never know when to stop eating. I hate this and I also want to get pregnant now so I am so worried. Do you think pregnancy will solve me ? Just need to talk to someone :(
Hello Welcome to HCM. I can understand your condition. Bulimia can be distressing. Pregnancy is not the solution for this. I have some suggestions for you: 1. Avoid fatty foods in your diet. This will reduce the total calorie intake even if you binge. 2. Whenever you have craving or compulsion to eat more, drink 2-3 glasses of water. This will keep you full. 3. Increase the amount of salads and fruits in your diet. These fibrous foods keep you full for longer duration. 4. Engage yourself in Physical activity like exercises, swimming, cycling.
Drugs like fluoxetine(prescription drugs) are also helpful in some cases.
