Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
I understand that you have been going through a difficult time due to your psychiatric problem. Bipolar depression is a challenging problem to treat and often keeps recurring despite treatment. You have mentioned that you have been treated with anti-depressants and anti-psychotics. But mood stabilizers are the mainstay of treatment for Bipolar depression. There are different mood stabilizers which have been proven effective - like Lithium, Valproate,
Carbamazepine,
Lamotrigine, etc. Sometimes, a combination of a mood stabilizer and an antidepressant may be required.
In some cases, where medication alone does not control depressive symptoms, a combination of medication and
psychotherapy - like CBT can be effective. Also, in cases of resistant depression, underlying medical conditions like
hypothyroidism, vitamin deficiencies, etc. may also be responsible for poor treatment response. So, I would suggest that you see a good
psychiatrist and discuss about the options which I have mentioned, so that your treatment can be optimized accordingly.
Wish you all the best.
