Suggest Treatment For Bipolar Disorder
Hi. My wife was diasgnosed bipolar disorder after 3-4 episodes of mania. First he gave lithium which did not help much .aft much trial and error method. The dose she is on sizodon plus 3 mg at night. Oxetol 300 . Bd. Topaz Bd. And glycomet 500 bd. Is still the diagnosis same or now they treating her for something else.

It seems from the current treatment that they are still treating her for bipolar disorder but the dosage seems inadequate. But the increase in dosage will depend on the symptom control. Topaz and glycomet are for weight control which might otherwise increase from sizodon and oxetol.

Sizodone is an atypical antipsychotic drug.
Oxetol is used as a mood stabiliser.
Topaz is also used as mood stabiliser.
Glycomet is anti-diabetic drug.
The psychotropics being given are for bipolar disorder and are right choice if your wife is responding on these medicines.
Bipolar disorder is a major psychiatric illness and the individual respones to different drugs is different. So the different drugs are tried and which works best for the person is continued for long term.
