Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi..I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder about 4 months ago along with ADHD and ocd. I currently take effexor, luvox, vyvanse for these. Over the past 2 months I think I have been experiencing episodes of mania and then severe depression. It is having a horrible impact on my everyday life and relationships. When I am depressed I won't leave the house or talk to anyone for weeks on end. Then I suddenly errupt on everyone and want to conquer the world, get a job, and I believe I truly can change the future of ADHD through nutrition. I won't sleep for days--researching all sorts of ideas that race through my mind--then as fast ad it comes over me it is gone. I have never had this happen before these past couple months and my family tells me each episode gets worse. Could it be brought on by the meds! Or am I manic and never was aware of it until now?
I went through your details. The condition you are presenting cannot be due to the medication you have been prescribed. You have been diagnosed with bi-polar and the given symptoms match bi-polar. A psychiatrist or psychologist cannot treat you like a bi-polar unless you seem fit for the diagnosis. Understand the steps involved in diagnosis. You needed the medicines and you got them. You never believed you had bi-polar and ADD and OCD. Now you are compelled to believe and you are reacting to the truth. Don't worry. These are normal procedures. Understanding your mental disorder helps in easy cure. Denial never cures mental disorder. Work with your psychiatrist and trust him.
