Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have ultra rapid cycling mixed state bipolar II. I m 62, my house is paid for and I retired at age 58. I seem to have everything going for me in terms of not having any financial problems or health issues, and I have more than enough money saved for retirement. However, I m in a constant state of apathy. It s worse than depression ... I just don t care anymore. I m not suicidal. My current shrink has been treating me for Bipolar I for 6 years. I m really beside myself that she doesn t even know the type of bipolar I have, despite the fact that my former shrink sent her all my records.
I went through your details. I am proud about you that you so not care any more about you and problems. I suggest you to have the same attitude towards the mental illness also. i suggest you to provide the symptoms you face during the given stages of attack and while doing so, please don't be emotional. there are solutions for every problem. Bipolar disorder is usually treated with a combination of medicines, psychotherapy, meditation and exercise. I suggest you to exercise and consult a psychologist for psychotherapy and meditation techniques. you should think about management and not cure. Management is equivalent to cure. Please understand.
