Suggest Treatment For Bleeding From Arm After Dog Scratched
Husband takes Eliquis 5 mg twice a day. A moment ago my small dog scratched his forearm and he had quite a lot of blood under the skin field. Should we put ice on this or just elevate it? Also should we cut down on the Eliquis or wait until he talks to PCP Monday - Andrew Sakevicz (sp?) His heard doctor. He had quadruple bypass May 15 and was on Coumadin but was changed over to Eliquis at my husbands request. Andrew agreed to this one out of three possible types. (new) Relatively new probably about month or so. Wife
hi. I have read your question and understand your concern.
I suggest you stop the bleeding by elevating the arm and applying pressure over the area. just keep constant pressure over the area for 5 mins and then release and check. mostly the bleeding will stop, if not then repeat the pressure.
there is no need to stop eliquis. bleeding will stop by the above manoeuvre. plus the effect of the drug will last for few hours even after stopping, so there is no point in stopping it.
hope this helps. for any further questions please get back to us. thanks.
