Suggest Treatment For Blister On Tongue Caused By Swallowing Hot Food

this afternoon I swallowed some very hot food and burned my esophagus. It's been several hours now and my throat feels like it has a blister about 2" behind my tongue. I'm not sure if there is anything I can do or just wait for nature to make the repairs.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your question due to swallowing very hot food there is burning of mucosa of the throat leading to ulceration or blister formation..
There might also be some pain, swelling and soreness secondary to inflammation caused by burning..
You can take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin) for reducing Inflammation and swelling..
You can also gargle with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine if there is pain..
Drink plenty of cold water as it will help in reducing inflammation and faster healing of blister.
Take soft diet and avoid hot, spicy foods to prevent irritation in throat.
It will resolve in 4 to 5 days..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
